No. You can continue connecting directly to MongoDB with the free MQLens desktop app. MQLens Server will be an optional choice for teams that want to manage database access centrally. Download MQLens for desktop.
MQLens Server will be a paid product, with pricing and licensing details announced before launch. The MQLens desktop app remains free and open source under Apache-2.0.
MQLens Server will help teams manage shared MongoDB access, permissions, and audit logs. The desktop app’s MCP integration lets compatible AI agents work with the MongoDB connections you choose.
