Optional help, inside your workspace

Describe your query. Review the MQL.

The MQLens query assistant turns a natural-language request into an editable MongoDB query or aggregation. Choose a supported provider or local agent CLI, inspect the draft, and decide what to run. Browsing and querying MongoDB do not require AI.

MQLens query assistant showing a sample prompt and an editable query draft
Step by step

From a question to an inspected query

  1. Configure a provider

Open AI settings and configure a supported provider or local agent CLI. External services may require an API key and charge for usage.

  2. Describe the result

Open the assistant beside your collection and describe the records or aggregation you need. Include useful field names and constraints.

  3. Review before running

Check field names, filters, limits, and write operations. AI output can be wrong; inspect the draft and use a suitable connection mode.

Why MQLens

An assistant, with context

Editable output

Read the generated MQL and modify it in the query workspace. Keep the final query visible alongside your data.

Your provider choice

Use the supported API provider or local agent configured in settings. A local CLI may still contact a remote model; check that tool’s configuration.

Understand data sharing

The provider receives the prompt and context required by the assistant. Keeping API keys in the backend does not mean all AI processing happens locally. See the security notes before using sensitive data.
